henry d
Well as it was to be dry-ish I managed 3 1/2 hrs out and about on the few stubbles that are cut, it was nice to be out and I got to try out the NV with my Deben max pro and the IR filter Wow!! Anyway I was going up a farm track towards an old steading which is being converted and there was a little glow from a pile of wood that had been burned and next to it on the road, which has been made better by the dumping of 100`s of tons of road planings, was a double set of white eyes looking at me and seemed to be hunkered down to keep warm down wind of the fire. I set the lamp on it and it stayed put, so I gently opened the car door and slipped out with the 12 bore and the torch, as a shot with the .222 would be downhill and into the dark. I managed to gently creep towards it and at an angle so I could keep out of sight but still see its shadow. 40yds away and I could see that it was an old "cats eye" that had been planed from the roads and just dumped on top of the old road Well it got the old ticker going !
