kingo
Hi After shooting at a friends club in crompton in cheshire a few weeks ago I am hooked and currently taking some lessons at a local shooting school in epping, my shotgun application is now been put in and I cant wait to crack on. My question is i work most weekends and would like to know is there anywhere in the Essex area (I live in Harlow on the Herts/Essex border) were I can shoot during the week and practice as these are the days I tend to get off the most, also if so how do you go about it do You just turn up or do you need to book and what are the costs ?? My second question is on the od Sunday I do get of do I have to be member of a club to shoot or can I just turn up and shoot and whats the cost involved Any advice would be appreciated would not like to turn up at these places looking like a novice fool Would love to know if there are any shooters local to me and can meet at a shoot sometime. Thanks for your advice Trev
Peter De La Mare
A1 shooting ground is open Wednesday to Sunday. Other places are open a bit further away, Braintree, Parkford, Dartford for instance, JJ's and Hawleys. Searches on the WWW will return the bigger grounds that'll be open during the week. You don't need to be a member, though if you shoot anywhere regularly membership will be beneficial. You don't need to book in anywhere, just turn up, though a call to check they are open is always a good idea. Costs are usually around 20p - 25p a clay. http://www.claypigeonshoot.co.uk/essex_shooting_ground.htm http://www.a1sg.co.uk/ http://www.dartcsc.co.uk/ http://www.jjscsc.co.uk/pages/tuition.html http://shootinggrounds.com/essex%20mon%20fri.htm Edited September 16, 2008 by Peter De La Mare

clayman
Theres both Essex Shooting School and Essex Shooting Ground nr Harlow. These and others all listed on the CPSA search by county facility go to www.cpsa.co.uk Any ground there meets minimum safety standards, and there is also a search for a coach facility. Roger Hill is a Senior CPSA Coach in your area.
