amateur
Just wondering what you long term shooters do, and how often you do it, to keep your gun in good order?
Easy Bully
Wipe down with a lightly oiled rag after each time it's been out and use a pull through every so often to clean the barrel, napier do alot of good stuff for this however I use 50lb fishing line for the pull through as opposed to a cleaning rod so as not to damage the crowning. amateur
Thanks for this - but sorry to be pedantic, but how often is "every so often". I have been applying a drip of silicone oil to the neck of my CO2 cartridges when fitting a new one (to lubricate the internal seals) and wiped down the exterior of the guns with the same stuff to remove fingerprints and rain-marks before putting away. I also apply a drip of mineral oil to the bolt mechanism. I have once after 2 months run a 5mm soft aluminium rod with a mineral-oil-soaked cotton wad ahead of it up the barrel (until the cotton wadding showed no black) and I was astonished how black it was initially. But is this something I should be doing after every shooting session? or if not then - how often?.
