Choked
Loooks like Bush Hill is now under new management. For those who didn't know, Bush Hill closed down earlier this year (June I think), because Big Al had enough of running the shoot in Hutton and in Stock. Now, in the latest edition of Pull magazine it is still listed but with a different telephone number. I checked the CPSA web site and the details are now: BUSH HILL CLAY CLUB Address 1: Temple Farm Trading Est Address 2: West Hanningfield City: Stock County: Essex Phone: 01702 208746 Category of Ground: Affiliated Name of County: Essex Name of Secretary: Mr A J Oriordan So, looks like the Stock shoot has been taken over by a Mr A Oriordan. Mungler
Mike, we should perhaps see if we can squeeze a visit this Sunday, however, Sunday's are looking quite stacked what with Copfurn, JJs and now possibly Stock on again. Do you know what the latest is on Big Al's sale - did it go through? PM me with what you know. I thought he was having his leg pulled all the way. Drive By
Is this the type of ground you can just turn up to (following a polite call to the number mentioned) or do you need to be referred by another regular? I'm still trying to understand some of the etiquette surrounding clay grounds... Know the fyfield/copfurn one is pretty much pay and play but wan't sure if this is the same. Ta! It used to be the same as Copfurn - just pay and shoot. But, getting into the grounds may be a bit tricky - if it is wet then things do get a bit muddy in the lane and car park. I think it is easier than copfurn, but location isn't as good.
Drive By
Its the other side of the car yards isn't it? Remember fishing on a syndicate lake down there many years ago when a load of guys with shotguns turned up! Ideally what I'd like to find is a syndicate/club that clay shoot as the pay and shoot ones are handy but a little pricey to do as regularly as i'd like. Guy in the shop near me suggested clubs would be cheaper and more likely to give useful hints and tips!
