KennyB
my 4yr old springer harry worked his heart out on our first shoot on Saturday, that evening i noticed he was lifting his hind leg, been to the vets this morning and and was prescribed pain killers and an anti biotic injection and told to return in one week, he was diagnosed with a suspected torn cruciate ligament and surgery would cost up to £3000 fingers crossed it dosent come to that kenny Edited October 13, 2008 by kenny5406
Miroku Mike
Exactly the same thing happened to my dads lab sam. WE took him to the vets, got the pills anti inflams. RESTED him solid for a few weeks. This did the trick. Poor old boys joint kept giving way over the first few days but as i said happily he is fine now. Back to doing what he loves and does best. Good luck keeping harry calm i have a spinger. Good luck Kenny, hope it works out for you like it did me old chap and sam. Mike P.s Hopefully its just a rupture of the ligament

ESS
Kenny mate, my lad bust his cruciate ligament / he was ok while working etc...came home rested etc...when he got up he was limping.I kept a close eye on this had him 2 vets etc.........give him these, oh it could be this.......money...money......... for fooke sake xray the ba*tard / give me a expert opinion i said / i was told to curb my grammar (posh ****ryish vets). It turned out he had bust the cruciate, refered & took him the dog hossy, had a consultation etc...with surgeon, walked him & doc felt the now lamed area yep defo as i said when i saw the xrays from your vets he replied. He was kept in / surgery took place that afternoon, all went well, left him there another day cause of work commitments etc.... short walks etc entailed for the nxt few months and longer, had him back for final xrays ...healed v fast..110% / rested him a little while longer. I have now got my best mate back 2 former glory and more commited now than he was B4. The lads i work with who run shoots etc.advised giving him the bullet / they had a unpleasant reply & was told that if it was them in the same circumstances.they would surely say the same, a few hummed n harred. It cost me nearly 2k but who gives a damn / he is fully insured Hope all goes well. E
