Dave-G
A friend of mine has offered to take me shooting on one of his remote golf course permissions. He is a non FAC holder, using a 12ftlb air rifle. The land has been cleared for Centrefire - I have checked this. He assures me the person granting his permission knows other people will accompany him with section one firearms, but this is not stated on the permission form. Police are to be notified before the visit. Should I accept the kind offer? Advise please. He, and possibly some of his FAC holding friends will read this. David BASC
David First thought is that although he has the right to shoot he is not the land owner or occupier nor does he own the shooting rights, so i am not sure he can give you the right to shoot – I guess your FAC is 'open' so says you can shoot where ever you have permission to shoot- yes? But your mate does not have the right to give you that permission in my opinion, only the land owner or the owner of the shooting rights can. So get the OK from them. Better safe than sorry I would say!
Dave-G
Thanks David. I too think that despite the very best intentions of all concerned I'd be commiting armed trespass unless I could see that I, or "a companion" had specifically been permitted to shoot section one there.
