Stamford
Hi, new to the site but been shooting on and off for 10 years or so. My job keeps me away from the field but I have started showing an interest once again. Used to shoot on a regular basis in Kent but the land owner was getting on in life and has now retired so hence the grovelling. Looking for fellow shooters in Surrey who would like a bit of company during days out rough shooting. I'm a member of NOBs but awaiting a date closer to home for a training session with them. I'm a member on various forums to do with country life etc and looking to broaden my horizons and learn the country way so to speak. Many thanks

You too were newbies once and we're eager to learn and to listen to advice aswell. There are some folk out there that sign up to a forum just to blag a spot of shooting, but please bear in mind that there are some decent guys here aswell that want to learn and gain experience from you. John_R
I think Surrey is just quite crowded really, so there are more of us Surrey shooters for a given amount of land. I am also new, but learning fast mostly on air rifles. However I am enjoying the clays and I think next year I will go for a SGC. In the meantime I too am on the search for permissions and happy to accept it is going to take time.
Stamford
Thanks for the info John, I've got a couple of plans up my sleeve but I'll have to strut my stuff again and change my tact... I'm feeling a bit more confident in approaching land owners, so fingers crossed. If all fails miserabley, then atleast I've been out in the country and got some fresh air !! John_R
Noel, would it be too cheeky of me to ask if I might pop along some time? I am only 30 mins away from your neck of the woods, indeed I am often down that way and into Farnham etc. due to my work. John

John_R
That was quick! Thanks, I will have to ask SWMBO tonight as I am beating on the Saturday so I might not get away with doing both! I did tell the shoot I am going to be there so I shouldn't drop that as it pays to be reliable. I'll drop you a PM anyway with my details, John
