deeksofdoom Posted November 20, 2008 Report Share Posted November 20, 2008 You need to leave that stick in a dry place for 6 months at the very minimum. It makes no difference how you store it, people will tell you to lay it flat, hang it or lean it against a wall but I don't think it matters its still going to be bent. Just make sure its out of the rain in your attic or some place dry. You can then straighten it by steaming it and bending it into shape over your knee. Tying it to a fence is useless. When you varnish it use some yacht varnish 3 coats at a minimum, but there's no point doing that until the stick has been seasoned. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
