Fisherman Mike
Had two cracking days on a flailed maize cover crop this weekend... 126 birds on Saturday 88 Birds yesterday..... My partner 101 & 67 from the other end of the field. No mast or acorns in the wood so some huge flocks about. One flock possibly 1500 birds strong on adjacent rape fields took to the air and headed North never to be seen again. Loads of birds still hitting the crop late yesterday afternoon including 100's of squeakers which were so stupid we couldnt bring ourselves to shoot them. ( No sport at all )They kept flying around wondering where the noise was coming from. Saw 3 Woodcock too and a big flock of Golden Plover Drove past early today and still masses of birds pitching in, plus 100,s of different finches including the first of this years Bramblings and lots of YellowHammers.
