Wookie
I was on my way home to walk the dog this lunchtime and happened to hear a program on Radio 4 about the future funding of shooting at the 2012 Olympics. Apparenty, Sport UK have decided to cut the available budget for shooting (they did not say by how much) based on the performance of the last Olympics and the intervening years between 2004 and 2008. So now it looks like our sport is a bit stuffed. No permanent legacy post 2012, and the budget for getting new shooters up to Olympic standard slashed because of the 50 million shortfall. You have to love the way things go on don't you?!
pigeon master
Yeah I heard that too, I think they are now looking to use Bisley shooting ground as the venue now. I understand that that Bisley was set aside for practice and the event was taking place at some local barracks but who knows, no doubt it will change again before 2012.
