Horrocks
Just interested, i'm in the market for a CZ american and nowt else, but i saw this online and was interested, ITs a browning T-bolt sporter in .17HMR, anyone know anything about it? Interested because it looks a quality gun but from what i can see their market share in rimfires is non-existant.... Plus, whats the legislation on going abroad for a reasonably long amount of time whilst having an FAC, how does it affect you, i heard they do you for not purchasing rounds often, would you have to take key with you, or just not report it? Thanks H

Horrocks
I think its to do with the idea you have to justify the amount of ammo you've asked for by regularily purchasing it. The police have basically got a mandate to try their hardest to reduce the amount of firearms held by private citizens, so there is a huge amount of legislation (lots justified) surrounding the keeping of firearms. I should think its within your local FAO's discretion most of the time, as to whther to remove your cert, but its probably best to toe the line carefully. there'll be someone better placed on here somewhere to inform us better, all i know is just what i've heard, i've seen nothing about it written anywhere. Baldrick
I am not sure on the procedure (if any) for long-term absence from the location of your cabinet. I have spent considerable time away from my firearms and never notified the Police or changed security arrangements. The Police assess your ammunition usage to determine not just ammunition allowances, but also to determine whether firearms are being used at all. It's common knowledge that if you fail to use a vacant slot, that slot gets removed at renewal unless you can provide a genuine reason. Similarly, if you fail to use any firearm at all, your 'good reasons' will get scrutinised by the FEO.
