Pigeon shooting wanted - North East /Co.Durham / Cleveland

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Reasonably new to shooting and looking for anyone who can help out with some pigeon shooting opportunities. I've been doing lots of clays to get the practice in but now want to get into the field and get some real experience. I've got all my own kit and am fully insured. I live in Stockton but willing to travel anywhere reasonable if any offers come my way. Can offer beer, wine, whisky, meals or folding stuff as a small return - whatever your poison really! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Hawkwind

Hi mike - Up at Oaklea on the back road to Sadberge and down at Thimbleby near Osmotherley. Am a member down at Thimbleby and they're a canny bunch of folk there (the ones I've met anyway!) how about you? Do you shoot clays locally at all?

Ah yes, seen that now Mike - got your message and replied now - only just getting used to this site!!! Went up twice to Thimbleby over Xmas to find it closed - should have read the newsletter a bit better before the wife 'filed' it somewhere! Hopefully going to go up there tomorrow (Sat) but that will depend on the in-laws who are visiting...again! Cheers. Catch up with you. thanks for the PM

i don't want to pee on your party or anyone elses for that matter, but shooting clays is a good way of learning

to handle a gun, but shooting real pigeons is much harder than clays, be prepared for a real eye opening

i have taken a few clay bashers (quite good ) and everyone has struggled on the real deal, mind you i still

think pigeon is the ultimate sporting bird
