if you live in or near east anglia you should come and give it a try at shepreth airgun hft club in between royston and cambridge.

we are a new and friendly club, children can shoot for free with a paying adult.

we do a BBQ and there are usualy 30 or so shooters to chat with, its good to try other guns and people can shoot the course again after all the rounds have been shot.

take a look here

we will be shooting next sunday from 10am and all are welcome, if you want to come could you post on here so i can get an idear of numbers

Not too bad. It was a sod trying to get it lined up with the crosshairs, but once I did, it is a very distinct way of indicating range.

However, I do see why you recommended the Russian Optics version. It strikes me that that would be far easier to zero.

HFT > Hunter Field Target

Basically 'simulated hunting' competition. Knock down targets laid out in a wood or scrubland. Between 8 and 45 yards out. Walk the course and shoot each target from marked pegs in the ground. Uses standard hunting / sporter air rifles.

Great fun, give it a go...

Cheers for that!

I like the sound of that!!

Bit of a way for me to go though. I live near Brighton. I would be willing to go but the wife and little one would not be as willing!!

Does anyone know of anything like that in my neck of the woods, or know where I can try to find out for myself?
