jonevo
Dave you would be better off buying a few young and rearing them, its a lot cheaper,The only other way is try catch a few live ones try and get a few females about 10 - 20 and 1 or 2 male Leave them on your land and see what happens naturally,Bearing in mind you will need to feed them to keep them from straying
dave1979
we havent really got time to rear young uns mate as we all have full time jobs..the idea is to put adult birds on then just keep plenty of feed on as we can go up most nites!!!! thanx for the reply.. JDFrain
if you can go up most nights then it will be just as easy to rear young bird, regardless of their age you will still need to feed and water them, what you may find is that older birds will not hold on the land were as the young pirds put in a pen will learn to stay on the land as there will be a plentiful supply of food for them and just start to release a few every week john
dave1979
i have been a keeper mate..and with young birds you have to water and feed them 3 times a day!!!(Or at least i had to on my shoot)
JDFrain
if you make sure there is plenty food for them in various types of feeders and set yourself up with a DIY drinking system you will be ok no problem every couple of days. I do our birds three times a week and never had any problems with running out of food or water. just ideas for you mate. and in my experience, year old birds or ex layers etc just seem to have a mind of there own and go were they want.. john
