Toombsy
Have any of you any experience with illuminated reticle/spot tele sights suitable for a .22 rimfire? The reason I ask is that I will soon be getting one that I be using for day and night sessions. My budget ain't great - around £150 would be about my max for the scope and mounts - less than that would be better!!! I have taken a look at the Hawke Nite-Eye 3-9 x 50 and that seems reasonable enough, but I'm not 100 percent sure. Has anyone got any experience using these? Are they any good? Or do you have a similar alternative that you would recommend? Many thanks
PaulABF
I can totally recommend the Hawke. I purchased the same off a guy on BBS last week. Crystal clear and the IR and mildots work a treat. Picked mine -up second hand for £45. There's a guy on here selling one - Ferretboy111. Try him. Toombsy
Thanks for that mate. I won't be buying one yet - I have only just posted off my firearms application 2 days ago... I just want to be sure of buying the right kit, if and when the application's successful. I expect to be waiting at least 3-6 months!!! deadeye ive
Despite what the majority of .22lr users will say for constant humane head shots you'll be operating between 50 - 70yds max for a large percentage of your shooting so a basic scope will do and 3 x 9 x 50 is more than adequate . For daylight use a fine cross air is good which you can't see at night under lamp conditions hence the illumination option. I now have fixed power scopes on my main hunting rifles with no parallex and no gimmics and for that budget of £150 it's probably worth considering forsaking variable power for better glass. http://www.mtcoptics.co.uk/
