Ian E
Hi, Can we get any Liverpool - Scouser jokes out of the way ASAP plz... Iam orginaly from Billinge anyways.. Iam new to clay shooting, had a day out a Catton Hall in Frodsham at the start of Dec 08 hit 31 out of 50 which i was pretty impressed with and really enjoyed. Put in for my SGC 30th Dec 08 I've had 2 of 5 lesson so far a North Wales Shooting School 3rd this Saturday. Also had a day at Worsley with my Uncle and 2 of his friends, shot ok, uncle and friends were impressed that I wasn't even past the 150 cart's mark and hitting some difficult pairs. Had 100 clays at NWSS last Sat, enjoyed a couple of rounds of skeet I think I hit about half, also had a round of DTL and ABT, with my uncle and one of his freinds. Anyways, I just wanted to ask if any of the North west guys can recommend some places to shoot, and also places to look for a Shotgun, I've shot a Browning cynergy, an old fabarm, which is ready for scrap, and a Beretta 686, my uncles got a DT10 but I don't think iam goanna get my hands on that just yet The Beretta felt nice but the stock was a little short, the cynergy i find a little heavy at the front end, but it's a nice shot. My uncles going to be out of action for a couple of months soon, as hes having a major op, so Iam going to be to be a bit stuck for shooting until my SGC comes thru, so is there any lads that go out that they wouldn't mind a complete noob tagging along \ lending a gun. Iam 38 with no kids and can get out most weekends, and yes i will buy the tea's !! Oh and any idea how long i will wait for my SGC in Merseyside, I've had one letter from them to explain the process but they haven't cashed the cheque yet.... Thanks for any offers and tips
David BASC
Hi, For places to go shooting take a look on the BASC home page www.basc.org.uk and follow the link to the GoShooting section, look on the 'Find' part of GoShooting and there is an up to date shooting club directory that lists all grounds with contact detials, facilities etc. Many grounds also sell guns so you can probably try a few out. Have fun! David
Patrick1964
NWSS is pretty good in that they have a gunshop on site, so when you get your ticket you will be able to try before you buy. I shoot at Llandegla (near Mold) mostly as it's just down the road from me, there's no gunshop on site though, but if you want to try a Browning B525 or a Miroku MK38 trap gun you're welcome to come up and have a go with mine. Drop me a pm if you like and we'll sort something out.
