maddog546
Well I dont know about your different areas throught the country but the foxes down here in Cornwall are regular as clock work,I have just returned from another succussful morning after recieving imformation that a fox was regularily being sighted in a farmers lambing field at around 7.30am. Of I travelled this morning and arrived at the said farm at 7am,enough time to travel on foot out across to the lambing field and lye in wait for my victim. The light broke a little later this morning near 7.30 than of late and just as it did I caught the whiff of pungent stinking fox, which concerned me as the wind was crossing my left shoulder and blowing across my face from left to right,as I was at the windward edge of the field I thought that the fox must have passed me by,but I had seen nothing at all. Then the sheep started to get flustered and at that moment away to my right I saw a dark shape creeping up the brow of the field and out into the middle,up went the 270 and away went a 130 grain to meet its target. Sure enough he never moved ,mind you I dont think I would if I just got slapped with one of those,I still could believe that I had smell this fox at over 70 yards away down wind, but when I got closer he just about took my breath away,No wonder he was on his own. So if someone tells you they regularily see a fox at a specific time its always good to take it as a starting point, day or night, its saved me spending countless hours trying to catched the cheeky thief out ! Good hunting to you all, snow supposedly on its way might be time to have a morning of work and lamp a few farms before dawn as the foxes stand out lovely on snowy mornings.
