fallowbuck
Unusual calibre for stalking in the U.K but looks like a nice setup. As you say no shortage of ammo but you have to be careful as alot of the former Eastern Bloc military stuff is corrosive and has to be cleaned after use. fallowbuck
Loaded correctly yes , i.e you wouldn't use FMJ military stuff but soft point hunting loads. As the guy says PRVI Partisan do them as do some of the more well known manufacturers. It is after all a short .308 so plenty of whoomf! 300m easily in the right set up. Very popular in America in the Ruger Ranch rifle, semi auto, now your talking!
manc-munsters
Fallowbuck beat me to that one! Yes its deer legal. If you were shooting mil-suplus 123gn FMJ's then it would not meet the muzzle energy criteria. Loaded with a 100gn HP it is a highly effective round for deer in the UK and a very light "carry-about" rifle for fox
