Bombadil
not far to go then for shooting with llandegla round the corner. Yeah i went to work there once, they were quite nice guys but i remember when i was loading one of the traps i dropped a whole stack of clays and ruined them all. Also i was told that on sunday many of the conservative types would criticize me for my appearance so i decided it wasn't for me.

I used to live in Llandegla and have shot there a few times and they are really nice and friendly round there. Even if they are mostly trappies. Go and give it another go, there's new owners now too so maybe it'll be more to your liking.

I think if i do get my SGC despite my nervous behaviour i will definitely go there agin to check it out, but from what i heard it's not the type of environment i would like to work in. Lovely yes but I had to move for work and Wiltshire is stunning in its own way. When you have your gun go and shoot there a few times and get to know some of the regulars. If you live close by then have a drink in The Liver with the locals, some of them use the ground or shoot locally. Most of the guys that use the ground are from Cheshire and Merseyside but there are some locals. Give it another go. I have a couple of mates that live in the general area, and if it is the pub that i'm thinking of (on the crossroads) it closed not to long ago. When/if i do get my gun though i will definitely visit, would be nice to socialise with the local shooting community.
Scarpa
Mold, FLintshire. Hi there... I'm from just round the corner near Wrexham. I often pop up to Llandegla (on a motorbike with the gun case strapped to the rear rack) or NWSS at Sealand. If you see someone with a black/yellow/silver leather jacket then feel free to say hello. HW682
Hi, yes this has been asked before recently. The answer is you do not need a safe for shotgun cartridges. A quick search on the forum for "cartridge safe" threw up half a dozen hits. Here is the latest, have a read to get a few thoughts on the subject. Darren h
Had my interview this evening and everything was fine. PC jackson was very helpful and was going to process things this evening and hopefully will receive my license within 2 weeks, can't wait
BrowningGP
hey you shuddnt bother too much about you having little experience with shooting....id suggest getting in with a good insurance company like BASC or CPSA as they outline safe shooting practices..the interview is normally to see if you are of the right state of mind to use/store shotguns.
