samyw Posted March 14, 2009 Report Share Posted March 14, 2009 went out this morning, to a field after a farmer had phoned me tell he had sown a field of spring barley. And that there was pigeons feeding on it. So i went down and there wasnt a pigeon to be seen. so then a went to another place in the same area and again nothing, so i got out of my van and just took my gun and cartridges with a face mask too! had a look in usual places not a bird at all, then i saw about 20 come out of a spiney of trees and had seen others heading this way it had been a good spot in the past so i got myself in behind a hide that was already there. was sat there for around about 5 minutes when the first bird came in one shot and it was down after another 10 minutes another few came all with first shot kills. i spent two hours there and finished up with 12 woodpigeons. not a bad day to say it wasnt looking to promising goin to a look at some on a rape field tomorrow!!
