There I am this morning about 8.30 am on the North Coast of Cornwall trapping moles on a totally infested field,my son with me helping to flatten the hills ,when I look up and no more than 35 yards away, the two prickets in the photo wander up the tree line and proceed to watch me.

I called as quietly as I dared to my son who must of been 70 yards up the hill to look at the Deer but he was unable to see what I could and wandered down the field to me,the two Deer seemed undeterred and whilst testing the air watched my son arrive ,still they stood and watched totally brazen, which being a hunter of such beast I found hard to believe that they seemed curious, perhaps its our uniform of light blue shirts that they seemed we presented no danger.

My son wandered back up the hill to continue his task and I carried on searching the ground for Mole runs,I looked up a few minutes later to be met with the two Deer now standing less than 15 yards away watching me tunneling. As I stood up to get the only thing I had on me that shoots(camera phone)they still seemed undeterred only when the sound of the camera was heard did the step away, and after the second picture which was out of range did they finally retreat to the woods .

So there I am hunting without a gun and what do I see, strange old world aint it,not long after that I put up about 8 Partridges, marvelous to be out in the early morning son whilst other sleep off their hang overs,I know who has the better life.

Be lucky Keith
