barbel-brad
Three of us went out two magnets 50 decoys and only saw about 5 pigeon all day 4 of them well out of range and one suicidal that i think due to boredom we had six shots at it in about 5 seconds LOL. By far the worst day so far this year clear sky no wind and bright sunshine not a good mix in my book glad to see that one oe two did well though. jonboy1
same as mate, was up at six, drove round everywhere, finally set on rape field, had one pigeon come in right in the glare of the sun, missed it. I packed up and went home after 3 hours then went back out at 4 o'clock with my mate and had 16 coming into to roost in the woods, so not all bad. What a lovely day though, was just nice to be out seeing everything waking up for springtime.
Shooting Tom
i had the same on friday they are going on rape now they are more on the clover and if one does fly by it doesnt want to know about the decoys. lol. My advice is to try to get in a wood where they sit alot many roost as well.
barbel-brad
Well its not getting any better tried another field today that has a wood and tree line at the back of it never been down that area but had noticed a few about over the last few days. One half decent flock about 40 birds came along the tree line but would not turn into the decoys to far away for a shot and i then sat and watched pairs and small groups of 6-10 birds following the same route did not move as i only had another hour before i had to go to work. I guess the moral of the story is make sure you learn something everytime you go out i now know where there flight line is out of that area and what trees they like to use as a sitting area and hopefully they follow the same route to roost. Going back on Sunday to try again but will go further down under the flight line and see what happens. Regards Brad
