al4x
electric collar is what you want. I've used one for the first time on one of mine and its been fantastic, my GWP is great and understands commands fully but would get carried away with rabbits and game while on walks and forget everything. Particularly concerning as my girlfriends parents house is over run with rabbits and backs onto a major road. She's coming up to 20 months so steadying naturally but got her used to it and used it while she was going bonkers ignoring me and rabbiting and straight back she came, had one more occasion to use it and now just use the beeper on it. I've now got a dog that will point rabbits and pheasants and hold point rather than run in, one that stops at distance and checks back to me for instructions. You have to be very careful with them but so far I'm very very impressed. in your case I think you could stop the chicken attacking very quickly and without any confrontation or beating of the dog
