stumacher
Hi everyone, i recently brought a second hand silver pigeon sporting and i would like to buy some extended chokes but i down know if my gun has beretta mobile or optima chokes. How do you tell? Can you use either style? If age of the gun is relevant, if so how do i tell the age? The gun just says, silver pigeon sporting so i dont even know if its 682, 686 etc. sorry if im being thick! all help appreciated stu. Andy H
Try here for your chokes they specialise in beretta parts and they ship pretty quick too. http://www.brignoliarmi.com/catalogo.php?l...amp;liv_prec=
stumacher
i cant see any that seems to be a model number, only the serial number and what i believe to be a date stamp. unless im going blind or plain stupid!!! really i need to identify the two types of choke mobile and optima so i get the right replacement in extended versions. the date of manufacture from what i believe is the date stamp (BF) is 1994
alexm
The link I posted above shows a picture of the different choke types. From the description of your gun I would say it is almost certainly mobilchokes.

alexm
On both my beretta O/Us the model number is engraved on the base of the action, somewhere in front of the trigger guard.
