Sea Fishing East Yorkshire

All down the Holderness coast is pretty decent fishing with some spots continually fishing well for cod in the rougher months with bass starting to show about now.

I fish further down the coast near Withernsea and off the Spurn road. Plenty of flatties in the estuary and you cant go wrong with lug or rag for those. You'll take the odd smaller bass from the estuary side too, even on worm baits.

The coastal erosion is pretty bad down there so be careful where you fish. The beach side at Spurn will yield codling, cod, bass, whiting and the odd ray. It just depends.

Tackle for rough ground, there are many submerged WW2 structures out there. Its starting to shelve off pretty steeply too as the sand gets moved away.

Fishing spurn head itself is difficult, the tide whips around it at 10 knots or more and you're straight into about 80ft of water. Its great fishing but you'll never hold bottom except on the calm days. Cod came out of there recently around the 20lb mark.

Hope this helps, sorry its not a bit closer to Brid. My last fishing trip to Brid turned up 3 decent whiting and a gigantic eel. I hate eels so I wont be fishing there for a while. lol

Cheers.
