claybreaker
my xs78 doesn't seem to stay all the way back when semi cocked, so it moves back and forth depending on the angle of the gun. Is this normal and how can it be solved?
Andy H
The xs78 is not meant to be semi cocked :ie you should open the bolt place a pellet in and then close the bolt . If you open the bolt and cock it but not close it will move back and forwards if you point the rifle barrel up or down

Biffo1262
What it does mean is that your inner workings have been either 'tuned by use' or it has at some stage been tuned well enough for the bolt to move as freely as that. Far from being a fault, it is a highly desirable state for a 78/79 bolt to be in and many a new gun owner would be Green with envy for their bolt to be as smooth as that.
