Markio
I see Deben do the lightforce 140/170 that has a shotgun barrel mount option. Does anyone know if any of the smaller types like Tracer Mini have that same barrel mount/option? Also what are the opinions of the Tracer Stinger? Anyone used one? Are they suitable for scanning the area for the like of rabbits, i.e. is their limited range not too limited with say a red filter on? Beardo
yes on the mount http://www.deben.com/lights_lamping/tracer...ghts/mounts.php only used a Tracer Mini which is fine for up to 50yards
JohnGalway
I've taken the underbarrel mounting off my Baikal. All I do now is hold the shotgun with my right hand, lamp in the left. When I'm lining up to shoot I rest the shottie fore end on my left forearm. Works for me, and you're not pointing a loaded gun around the countryside. I had the Deben mount with the Mini and much prefer this way.yYou dont have a gun with loads of clutter either.Brilliant with a LED D cell maglite. Then again I use a Hushpower so resting it on my forearm is easy peasy as no recoil hardly.
Markio
yes on the mounthttp://www.deben.com/lights_lamping/tracer...ghts/mounts.php only used a Tracer Mini which is fine for up to 50yards Doh! Missed that, good find cheers. John/Vole, point taken about the clutter. I must admit that's what drew me to the Tracer Stinger as there's no addition battery pack, just light at end of barrel and switch on foreend. However i'm guessing the trade off of is illumination so i hope someone's used this specific model and can sing it praises!
Evil Elvis
B) The mini is too sall esp if you put a filter on it. i have a tracer with battery etc for £45 if you want it.Will clip straight onto your shotgun.

The MINI is too small? That's this one right? So i'm guessing the tracer stinger i'd pointed out earlier would be useless? It's just for rabbits mind. What's the one you have EE? Tracer doesn't narrow it down much mate. Oh and i'm just investigating at the moment, i'm waiting from news at work to see if i have any spare cash to play with on this type of purchase. wy111
I've got various lamps, including a Mini. Lightweight? belt battery. It throws a great, adjustable beam, no problem upto 250 yds without any filters. The only minus, it doesn't come with a dimmer. I have a red and IR filter for it and like any other lamp, they seem cut down the beam by approx 50%, but then again, depends on your scope. Can you put a manufacturer link up of what you have? Cheers. If i'm on foot with a shotgun mounted lamp then really how much range do you need with rabbits? 40 yards surely? If they're dumb enough to be out then you've got a sporting shot, hell you can't stalk them!
