We went shooting today that is me and Big June, when we get to the estate we drive all round it to keep up with what’s happening, takes about an hour or so to drive right round, anyway we pulled up by one field to see more Hairs than either of us has ever seen in one field before, there must have more than 25 + in a group, Jumping, Running, Boxing, we sat there amazed. We then drove to another part of the estate and encountered our first Mallard of the year with young, it’s not all about shooting Briliant.

Whilst I love watching hares, I know full well that visible hares draw in the ****** with long dogs. And ****** mean theft, nuisance and mess. Last year, we had about £6,000 of red diesel stolen, three break-ins and one Landy go missing.

So we shoot all the hares (a job that none of use like one jot) to minimise any appeal to the didds. I'd rather shoot the didds in order to preserve the hares, but I haven't got that condition on my FAC.

I have allways enjoyed my forays around the farms just watching the wildlife . Sitting in the disco or in a hide ,its surprising what you can see . A few days ago i watched a weasel drag a three parts grown rabbit 30 yards along a hedgerow and then dissapear into the long rape , he was really working for his dinner ,more than you can say for some of the spongers you see dossing around the city centres .

Harnser .

Yes not all about shooting, we were sitting one afternoon in my Rangy in a clearing in the woods, when a rabbit came into the clearing closely followed by a weasel, now you would think rabbit that can out run a weasel , but the rabbit I can only think was so scared it just couldn’t move and as you say the weasel just took it and although the rabbit was twice it’s size it dragged it off, amazing.
