ernyha
TG The rotary device is good for attracting the pigeons from a distance but when they get to you they need to see birds on the ground to give them confidence to land. This is why most users position their rotor at one side of their decoy pattern and to the rear to allow the birds to enter your pattern. A rotary on its own will bring the birds within range and give you some testing shots but don't expect them to behave as they would normally do with a decoy pattern on the ground. ferretmanabu
How do you decoy over the rape now that it has become so tall?
ernyha
How do you decoy over the rape now that it has become so tall? First find a well ravished or bare patch (there are always some on most rape fields, especially around the edges) then put your statics on cradles and the rotor, bouncers etc out as normal. If it is a field that they have come to like over the months, they will always find a place to land to feed on it.
ferretmanabu
Thanks. I'll have to go and look for some bare patches and a good flightline whilst I'm still on my holidays.
