Applying for FAC

Recommended Posts

hi

ive held my sgc for about a year now and live on a small holdign of a aroudn 10 acres with permission on around 200 acres on one farm and and similiar amount on two others

rabbits are been controlled by shotguns at the moment but the rabbits are becoming lamp shy and foxes are about so i was thinking of applying for a .17hmr which i would use for the rabbits and close charlies. ive had a fair amount of experienc with rifles during the last few years but sold my pcp air rifle to fund a shotgun.

ive just got a few questions about the process which i was wondering PW members could advise on:

for a rimfire calibre are mentors required?

whats the minimum size of land for the flo to clear a rimfire?

do lancashire police pass .17hmr for fox?

and finally whats the procedure for clearing land?

thanks mick

Hi Mick

i come under Preston as well, they won,t allow .17HMR for foxes -the smallest they will allow is .22Hornet, my mate lives in Euxton and they would,nt allow him a .22 LR because of ricochets but gave him a HMR you need to speak to Peter Wilkinson who i think covers youre area ( he is a great fella-passed my land no probs !!!)

hi shaun

when i got my sgc i had phil kelly who was a good man to deal with

rabbits are starting to do more and more damage but theyre becoming wick to the lamp and disperse quickly when we can get close enough for a shotgun shot

i think ill give the flo a call and see what the job is

thanks again

mick
