Si-Bore
Hey guys My friend is going to make me an seperate longer stand for my flapper for shooting over laid crops so i can get more elevation on the bird increasing visibility. I am considering using either 6mm or 8mm steel bar. The latter may be better due to the incresed flexing/wobbling imposed by the flapping action on the longer stand. The welding will be no problem and we have a spade type end and square bar for the attachment to the motor unit. Just wondered if you guys have done so in the past and did you find any superior materials, ideas or problems? Thanks, Si

Highlander
Take any of the metal telescopic ‘bouncer/floater’ rods and replace the fibreglass inner rod with a metal one with a square piece welded onto the end. I use these to raise electronic flappers up to 6’ or more. Given the weight of the electronic/mechanical bit you’ll need a firm strong base rod otherwise it’s always going to fall over.
