lylemorgans
I’ve been trying to find permission for some time in Hampshire now {about 18 months} and its one thing finding farms tucked away down tracks, or an old farm that’s now been turned in to a plush new landscaped oasis, but when I do find a working farm theirs either some one who already has permission or they kindly say (ill take your number and give you a call if I get anything) is that a polite way of saying keep looking can any one help Lyle
Cranfield
When a Farmer asks me to leave my details with him, I take that as a positive sign. I wait 4-6 weeks and call back, on the second visit I will try to find some birds on one of his fields and specifically refer to them, along the lines of "I have seen quite a few birds on the peas and wondered if you need any help yet". I have finally got permissions after calling back 4-5 times, sometimes I think this is a "test" by the Farmers. They have told me that they use to give out permission easily and then only see the Shooter a couple of times a year, or not at all. At least by calling back you show some interest and persistence, thats what the Farmer is looking for.
Bluebarrels
Dont give in mate as Cranfield says you need to keep on asking them, eventually someone will give you a chance, once you get your foot in the door, you will find you get other offers, once the word gets around, the land i shoot mate has 10 people registered to shoot it,ive been shooting there for 6 years now,and only seen 1 of them,WHY because most people have far too much land to get around. You just need to be persistent mate eventually it will come good.
