Just put depoist on ruger m77 mk11 vt.

Rilfe come with 22" barrel recrowned proofed, tigger job as well, mounts, tasco varmint scope, bipod, sling, mod. :P

22" barrel worries me a bit but as most o my shooting is done by 4x4 or out tractor may well be a help, completely different than what i was looking at a know,

Comes from a gun shop/private sale 12 months warranty, looking down the barrel in the way some of you on the forum have said, barrels one of the better looking ones have seen, could only bore scope will say other wise i under stand. Most second 22.250 i have seen have been more like a shot gun than rifle.

They reckon they know the history of as they sold it, chap lost his FAC to mental health ground so he sold back to gun where it came from, they seem to think the rifle has noit seen any 300 to 350 rounds though it :good:???

Proof will be in the shooting i know, still not sure weather done the rigth thing mind.

I feel the rifle will more than likley out shoot me even with a shortened barrel, went round some or my shoot permissions and range found most of the feilds and most are around 250 to 350 yards. Will have to something with scope.

Can also act on some shoot new permissions that have been offered to me how which is good.

Price was less alot less than £600.

Anythougths welcome.

DD, At 22" you should be allright here is a passage from the Chuck Hawks web-site froman article on barrels;

The typical barrel length for a repeating hunting rifle chambered for high intensity cartridges, such as the .243, .270, .308, or .30-06, is 22-24 inches. These are useful all-around barrel lengths for such cartridges. The highest velocity standard cartridges (.243, .25-06, .270 Win.), which achieve muzzle velocities around 3000 fps, are at their best in a 24 inch barrel and 24 inches is the SAAMI standard for almost all American centerfire rifle calibers. However, for cartridges such as the .257 Roberts, 6.5x55, 7mm-08, .308 Win., .30-06, .338 Federal, .35 Whelen and .350 Rem. Mag., which typically operate at 2500-2800 fps, the velocity loss in a 22 inch barrel is not extreme and a rifle with a barrel of this length usually balances and swings well.
