jinxy72
Made these and they are to lovely for the chocoholic in you You will need : 225g (8oz) unsalted butter ( or what ever u use ) 225g (8oz) plain chocolate ( i use bournville for all cooking as its semi-sweet and it tastes much better ) 4 medium eggs 200g (7oz) golden caster sugar 175g (6oz) plain flour ( sifted ) 2tsp (roughly 10ml ) vanilla extract 175g (6oz) pecan nuts roughly chopped ( this u can leave out if u wish and add whatever u want ... cherries work too ) 1) preheat oven to 180c (160c for fan oven) gas mark 4. grease and line cake tin ( says to use 9" square ) 2) put the butter and chocolate into a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water ( ban marie ). Leave until the chocolate has melted then remove from heat and stir until smooth ... allow to cool. 3) whisk the eggs and sugar together until thick and pale.. stir in the cooled chocolate mixture then lightly fold in the flour, vanilla extract and pecans. 4) pour mixture into prepared cake tin and bake for 45-50 mins or until brownie is almost cooked in middle ( test by inserting a skewer or pin in centre-it should come out hot with a little of mixture sticking to it .... the brownies will continue to cook after they come out ) leave to cool in tin for 20-30 mins 5) cut into 12 pieces and enjoy
