alexr
I have just hatched out three geese, unfortunately two died with in two days of hatching. The third is now nine days old and appears to be doing well, but is becoming increasingly tame with out its goosey friends to keep it company. Geese are new to me, have done ducks in the past. They seem far harder to get through the early stages. Any advice for next time. Also only got a strike rate of 40% with the eggs dispite best efforts. Usually do a lot better than that with the ducks. I do want to give it another go but getting one goose from eight eggs is a little off putting. Stillsy
indeed geese are tricky to hatch but humidity is the key for a good hatch. As you can imagine the mother goes for a swim comes back and sits on the eggs making them wet increasing the humidity. You can buy a hygrometer off ebay for about £10 this measures the temp and humidity you want the humidity around 50% up until they pip where i would open the incubator up and spray the eggs. Stillsy.
