Frenchieboy
I went out to check out a fox problem that someone called me about this morning on land where I had been doing some Magpie and Crow culling. The land is only about 30 acres of which about 5 is woodland and is "reputed" to contain half a dozen Roe Deer. I had in the past seen one Roe Buck but I hadn't seen a doe, that was until today. I spent several hours walking about slowly and silently looking for the fox runs and then a slight movement caught my eye. I quickly got my camera out and took the top of the two photos shown below. Can you spot this well camouflaged Roe Deer? I did go on to spot 2 more roes but only got one half descent photo of one of them which I have attached. For more photos that I have taken locally of deer please go to: http://s542.photobucket.com/albums/gg426/f...eer%2013-02-09/ Edited June 18, 2009 by Frenchieboy
MerseaDavid
Great pics mate It is good to see them, I was out yesterday shooting rabits and I saw something coming through the corn, my first thought was it being a fox so I got the gun ready and out came a small roe deer. The first I have seen on my farm.
Frenchieboy
Hey David, where the heck are you with the corn cut this early? (oops, I've just looked at your profile and see that you are down near Colechester. Still a bit early for harvesting though isn't it?) As you say, it's nice to see a few deer now and then. It's surprising how many there are about but it's also a shame that more people do not see them simply because they dont know where or how to find them. In our area I can see Reds, Roe, Fallows and Muntjacs, all within 2 miles of my home. I feel priveledged to be in such a position! p.s. The only way I want to shoot deer is with my camera!
