ferretmanabu
I've already got my land approved for FAC. However, the last couple of times I've been out, I have noticed a neighbouring field has recently cut some long grass and that the field is absolutely crawling with rabbits. I can get permission to shoot on this. Will the police come out to specifically check this one field again to approve me shooting on it or will they approve it without coming out as it is right next to my existing land? I only have a closed FAC at the moment. The reason I ask is the last time they did a land check, they did not take me to go see it as the land is in a different county to my FEO so the people who checked it were actually the firearms department of the county the land is in. They got in touch with the farmer. The farmer's pretty busy these days so I don't want to get him hassled for another land check.
njc110381
Does the new field belong to the same farmer? If so they should have checked it already? If not it'll need checking I'm afraid. The joys of a closed FAC! Keep at it for a few months. I'm sure if we nag them enough they'll open it up for you
ferretmanabu
Ah ******. I thought as much. You'd like this field neil. It's crawling with rabbits. I only noticed cos the grass has been cut now but both sides of the field have rabbits on. I counted roughly 30 at one time the other day. We could have an HMR facing each side at dusk and take some good numbers.
