deny essex
I know electric flappers around already but im a nut for making my own stuff. Based it on a shell decoy to save weight on the ones i have seen and handled. The whole thing, bird, bouncer whip and including batteries weighs in at 425gram, 15 ounces in old weight. I have it mounted on a telescopic bouncer whip for double action with a foot spike , wing speed comparable to a bird comming into the pattern , have made another with wing speed comparable to a bird leaving/or flight by. The bird can tilt on the bouncer whip to alter the inclination giving near to the ground effect or 4 foot from the ground flight. Battery life with 2 AA batteries in excess of 3 hours, batteries mount simply within the decoy. At the moment working on a radio control unit for on/off flapping from within the hide . Have run the unit in the picture for around 6 hours but not had the opportunity to field test it yet for reasons in the dog section, but as soon as possible im out to field test it on stubble. Not new , not original but much lighter than commercial ones , i will be during next week making different mounting brackets and more flappers to go on my rotary ( shot the **** outta my hypa's over the years note to self , be more careful with theese ).Did make a short vid but site has not the facilities to handle unfortunately.
