Dibs
I have been offered a gun at a cracking price that im interested in but its a right hander and being left handed it will not fit me. To get the right fit it needs to be cast over for about 1/4 inch left hand cast. I have always assumed that this was a simple process but have spoken with a couple of gunsmiths recently, one who said he spends a fair amount of his time dealing with split stocks as a result of casting and one who said it could not be done due to the stock bolt on this particular gun (Blaser F3) i am now not so sure its a good idea. Suppose the other option is to have the stock reheaded but this may weaken the wood. Anyone with experience of this, as its a good buy if I can get it fitted properly or a waste of money if I cant!.
