Not sure about the earlier Beretta auto's, my first was an AL390, but there is a magazine restrictor plug which when removed will make it 4-shot (3 in the magazine). Due to the design of the gas piston on the end of the magazine tube it's not possible to fit a longer mag tube on if that is what you want to do. Not worth the hassle for one extra shot IMHO.

Give Peter a ring

Peter RFD

He is a master at FAC conversions and will tell you if you can be done.

cheers - i just called him - he has not done a beretta so he wasnt sure if it was possible (depends on the crimp) - ( he mainly does section 1 conversions on shotguns for PSG - and apprently no one uses berettas for this.)

thanks anyway i will keep looking :good:

When I first started looking for a new FAC spec semi-auto I wanted a modern wooden stocked Beretta (e.g. AL391). However, I was rapidly informed that unless it's an Extrema (i.e synthetic stock) that it was not possible to extend the magazine.

This is one of the reasons I went for the Winchester SX3 Field in FAC spec. 5 shot capacity straight from the factory.

Very happy with it :good:post-16922-1248871435.jpg

The only Beretta you can fit a magazine extension tube to, afaik, is the Extrema 2. I have one with a 2 shot extension which makes it 8 shot (9 if you use 65mm carts). I changed it from an Urika for that reason because I wanted an FAC shotgun and could only make that into 4 shot by removing the restrictor plug. I don't think any are crimped although I'm not 100% sure about the 303, like I said the design doesn't allow mag extensions, this is why they aren't popular with the PSG boys. HTH.
