BIGDAN
a new. 22 brno ( cz} is about £230 .the .17hmr verion ( the cz varmint} is about £335. shop around if you have cash and dont forget to get it threaded for a moderator. Either calibre will never break , will shoot clover groups all day long, are cheap to run, and in thirty years time you will be able to pass it on to your grandchildren and they will get another thirty out of it
Supersonic
On my FAC app I originally applied for FAC air and .17hmr. After experience I never bought an FAC air but applied for a variation to .22lr instead and haven't looked back. .17hmr (for daytime) .22lr (silenced for night time use) sub 12ft/lb (for when aplicable) all bases covered!! Browning GTS
he's feeding you a load of bull poo as for a decent setup cost with scope buying new you should be able to get the HMR for under £500 and the .22 for less than that Maybe not a raindrop but any long grass in the way will affect a hmr you will get to know the sound of a break up rather than a clean shot
tweedledee
fair enough guys 22lr has more range and cheaper but it does depend on what kind of shooting you do most.i do a lot of shooting from yards into trees to cull the crow population.the fac air is the safest option.would n`t want to be shooting any powder burner like this
