George1990
Monday there were loads of pigeons up there - literally clouds. But I hadn't permission to shoot it Went up today and there a few in a different place, so thought I'd set up against some maize which was planted in spring after the pigeons decimated the rape. Bang, one down and a few lifted. Bang and another down. Waited an hour and one crossed fast. Bang - dead - and some more lifted and got one that was disturbed. That was a about it. They decided to go somewhere else. Picked up five. Shot five or six for nine cartridges. Double whacked a couple Used 32gramme of No.5 Fiocchi cartridges. They hit V hard and are great to shoot! Lovely day though on my new permission... Edited August 13, 2009 by George1990
George1990
Had 15 shells on wobble sticks and a magnet at the head of the rough horseshoe pattern. Sideways on to the hide. (So don't use this combo :D )
Imperfection
Its been like that round here lately, but i guess its because everyone harvested their rape & barely almost at same time so if the woodies get spooked-they move onto their next feeding ground. When this happens i stick the crow decoys instead! Im out tommorrow so hopefully they'll be something about.
