ed7.62
Does anyone know how I find out who owns shooting rights at our gun club, as I want to purchase them. The club is in an old lime quarry, where would be the best place to start as there is no real address? Thanks Edited August 21, 2009 by ed7.
Baldrick
Can you not just ask club members? If you're faced with silence, or ignorance, you may be able to establish the identity of the landowner via a Land Registry search, then make contact with the owner to clarify who hold the rights. It's much more common to let the shooting rights by way of a licence, than it is to purchase the rights.
CharlieT
The shooting rights will belong to the land owner unless they have at some time been sold off to a third party or retained by a previous owner. As Baldric said the Land Registry is the place to start if locals do not know who owns the land. The deeds to the property will record if the shooting rights are in hand or not.
