scolopax
Anybody ever go on a shooting holiday? I go every year on a weeks wildfowling trip to Scotland, I think this year will be my 17th trip. Normally go with my brother and a couple of mates, plus assorted dogs and enough armaments to adequately supply another Jacobite rebellion. As for the bag, well its always on the foreshore so can be variable, worse year was the first trip we made, one goose and a couple of hares between five of us. Best years have seen us returning south with twenty plus geese and a few more ducks for the week. Not all about the shooting though, the scenery and the wildlife make it special plus the friends we have made. I also go on quite a few stalking trips to Scotland nowadays, we have a caravan on the lease so I normally go for two or three days, just me and the dog. Turns out the river which form the boundary on one side is a noted sea trout and salmon water so we are going to enquire with the landlord about permission to fish, something to do on those long days between morning and evening stalks. Dunkield
Yes, it started as once a year, this year it will be 4 times sans family, next year - well who knows... It can be addictive, and requires and very understanding and independent partner, not all are like this so my advice would be check before booking the trip, or marrying the wrong one
