clueless1
Hi, I'm new on here and have spent the last couple of days trying to find out what I've been doing wrong. Seems to be a bit of too much choice for the birds at the moment and maybe the rotary position/speed/use. I've been setting up a V formation (20 decoys) with the rotary at the point. Think I need to look at the positioning of this and wheather or not it is actually required. What I am going to do is fabricate some bouncers. I can get hold of a few lengths of carbonfiber rod and was wondering if anyone has used this and what thickness is appropriate, 1m lengths. Is steel better? Very impressed with the amount of information and tips available on here but hope someone can help. Thanks in advance. Fraser
ryantidgwell
If you know the exact size and durometer that you need then PM me the details and your address and i'll send you some in the mail. I suspect that they might be 010 NBR 70's, as thats what the fill stations we sell use, but let me know Nicky can use what ever you like mate as long as it works , as long as its got a bit of flex and you can get the birds on it some how then go for it , i use fibreglass poles cos thats what i had avalable but i am sure carbon fibre will work! Cosd
Mate I looked at making one of these just for the kick of it. But by the time you make it and buy the bits you're gonna save a pound or two. You can get a buy 2 get 1 free at £15 each. So for £30 you can get three, team up with a couple of mates and they work out a tenner a shot. They are light, they extend, they have a kick plate and the wing spreaders fold..... That's my advice any way. By the way I bought one and I want to get another, they are good for movement and light in the kitbag when you don't want to lug a rotary across muddy fields.
