nickfishing1
I have put 100 mallards on our eight flight ponds this year,i have estimated we must easily have another 100 + wild birds as well, mallard and teal,i have spent day and night with my nephew to achieve this keeping predators at bay and feeding, fencing off the ponds. We only intend to start flighting the end of this month to give the birds time to condition. The shoot is 350 acres with mixed pastures and woodland,we usually only flight it once every fortnight, weather conditions permitting,do you think with that amount of birds it could be shot more often, the ponds are quite well spaced out around the shoot. al4x
depends how many you shoot each time, that frequency lets them calm down well so you don't overshoot it, but I'd be looking to shoot a fair few early on so you're not feeding that many and trying to hold them for too long. Sounds like the ones near me where they never get less than 100% return on birds put down as they seem to attract wild ones from elsewhere. Sounds like you're in for some good sport though
