otherwayup
Hi, I've had a little hunt around the net and worked out what some of the marks on my 2004 Browning 525 mean, but I can't find anywhere explaining those I've highlighted below. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks,
HDAV
Bottom pic ithink NP is nitroproof, 3 not sure have your tried here http://www.europarl.europa.eu/hearings/200...co/genco_en.pdf and http://www.phoenixinvestmentarms.com/archives/Proofmarks.pdf I'll check my 525 think it has similar
Andy H
The shield shape in the first pic is the modern mark for leige in Belgium and in the last pic it appears to be a stamp for superior proof not English make and nitro proof but a mix of european and english marks is a bit strange. HDAV
Mine has the same E with a star over then a D underlined and under the breach the same i wonder if Browning have multiple proofs carried out so their guns are ready for sale anywhere? In your second picture there is what looks like a T or an I surrounded by a ring of trapezoids? on mine this is an E I think but have the same SP NP and
Andy H
The E with a star over it is the proof stamp for the inspector Hassens Fabrice and the underlined D is a date code.

The 'thing' above the F on my gun is a bit vague but could be a hollow star.

Is this info. online anywhere? I found some Inspector codes, but they only went up to about 1970 and mine is a 2004 gun.
