Davyo Posted November 27, 2014 Report Share Posted November 27, 2014 (edited) Just finished wiring in the Headrest DVD players in the headrests and they are constant live so have to be turned off via the power button(which is what I wanted as I dont want the units turning off while the kids are watching DVDs while I fuel up ect) But I now want to hard wire my accident cam,but want this to power on/off with the ignition but all the fuses seem to be live.Will pop into an outo electrician to see if he can find me a switched fuse as I dont have a multi metre..Even I Piggy back of say the jet washer fuse that only works with ignition on,the camera is on constant even with ignition switched off.Any ideas fellas? I note what you say about the row of fuses on the left being switched, I assume you're talking about the fuses on the panel under the glove compartment. But for my 2011 Mk3 Focus the handbook lists Fuse 61 "Cigar lighter, rear power outlet" in that row and that's definitely not switched. What Mk is your car? will_gleave Posted January 20, 2015 Report Share Posted January 20, 2015 Same fuse box use Green/white wire Connector "FRONT1": GREEN 41-way connected to upper part of fuse box installed under passenger glove box pin number 27, i fit a lot of fleet and svr tracking systems and this is the wire that ford recommend as an ign live for accessories. Davyo Posted January 20, 2015 Author Report Share Posted January 20, 2015 Just checked fuse box under glove box last row on the right 4th fuse down 7.5 fuse 85 in the manual.i have my carcam wired in with a fusemate. No trouble mate,have you seen the piggy back fuses you can get on eBay,they are spot on I have my Night Vision driving system wired up in the 4x4 with them. Good to have a fit and forget set-up, it'd be just my luck to get hit by some wazzock on one of the occasions that I'd forget to turn it on. (I was hit three years ago, at first the driver was reasonable and co-operative but after a few days started lying and trying to deny the damage was her fault, luckily the guy behind me stopped and offered himself as a witness).
