  1. I personally think that the police are just covering themselves just in case. All i do know for certain is that the cps rejected the case 3 times before its actually went through.
  2. I can't say the exact crime but it is based on hearsay and a non violent crime, its 50/50 his version of events and theirs. He was originally told a week prior to being charged that he could voluntarily surrender his licence and firearms or face having his licence revoked and his firearms confiscated. it is only now he has been contacted being told that they have to serve him revocation papers and that he can appeal against this as its been on going for over 2 years.
  3. Can anyone answer this for me........ Someone i know in our little fraternity of shooting in the uk has been charged with a crime and surrendered his licence on advice from his firearms officer many months ago as his court date is not until next year, now today he has been served with a revocation of his licence. My understanding of uk law is that he's is innocent until proven guilty so why would this happen, all seems very unfair as now when he is found not guilty he will have to reapply and will have a mark against his name as he's had a licence revoked. Does this ring true.
  4. Something like this maybe http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201501190272609/sort/default/radius/1500/model/navara/make/nissan/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/maximum-age/up_to_8_years_old/maximum-mileage/up_to_70000_miles/price-to/7500/usedcars/postcode/sk164uq/page/1?logcode=p
  5. Same fuse box use Green/white wire Connector "FRONT1": GREEN 41-way connected to upper part of fuse box installed under passenger glove box pin number 27, i fit a lot of fleet and svr tracking systems and this is the wire that ford recommend as an ign live for accessories.
  6. We run a fleet of pick ups at work and we've tried them all, inc hilux's, l200's. we've settled on the navara and we're on our second lot now, tekna models auto great in all weather and on all terrains, so reliable all we've done to them in the last 5 years is tyres and services, we also remapped them all which has returned excellent mpg approx 4 mpg better than standard through thorough testing.
  7. Can i ask what car it is as there are a few ways to open from the inside.
  8. Yeh wouldn't mind a chat maybe pick your brains, diagnostics is just a small part of what i currently do so would be good to see what works out there.
  9. Seat belt plug/micro switch or loom is common for srs faults. Well done on taking the plunge I'm also in the midst of trying to do this.
  10. From my experience these have a high failure rate of the cdl module which is located behind the drivers side dash also the wires going in to the door wear away and short out so worth checking them as well.

  12. I buy from it all the time, I've bought a few tad v jackets now and some have arrived in 2 weeks others have taken over a month like falconfn says it can be hit an miss but always gets here eventually. Its a good site to miss out the middle man and save a lot of money.
  13. Everyone i work with knows i shoot i arrant by-monthly clay trips for them I'm not fussed that they know as its pretty much a family run business but i have been brought up to not advertise to joe bloggs that i shoot and i take care in not making it public knowledge i.e. stickers in my car etc its just common sense. Didnt swap it for a pug got a husky instead .
  14. Ill give you a good reason not to have stickers in your window, the other day we had a vehicle come in to us for some work, now i didn't work on it one of the other lads did, anyway he came in a told me that the owner has guns him knowing I'm a shooter, i asked how he knew to which his reply was, "he's got a sticker (basc) on his window like them that are in your magazines". May i point out at this point i do not have any stickers in my window as I've alway thought it was a bad idea for this reason. I told him to ask the customer upon return what guns he had a gauge his response to which he did and the customer told him then asked if the lad was a shooter. he told him "no but you've got that sticker means you've got gun doesn't it?" the customer was shocked that the lad knew this and looked worried until i told the customer id put him up to it an that the sticker was a bad idea as a non shooter assumes he has guns it opens a bag of worms, he removed the sticker and even thanked me as he never thought of it like that.

  18. Paperwork doesn't really bother me as its all pretty much done on each job so its all ready for sending in pretty much, all i need to do is worry about the tax but as stated a retired family member would help with that.
  19. Its quite possible i know the chap and has/does do work for us currently.
  20. I think i need to, The way i see it is that the market can only grow with most insurers requiring tracking systems and soon driver cams its looking increasingly exciting future.
  21. Thanks but its scary needs planning for a couple of months to get stuff built up while I'm still working.
  22. I have all my own tools, except a couple which are the companies but wouldn't require them really. Training- i do most of the training for companies already and theres not many courses out there usually free anyway I just need a van to carry everything stuck between buying a second hand or leasing at this point As with anything things can go wrong so will be sorted job dependant Insurance not a problem. Its so tempting just need the balls to take the plunge
  23. Im already pretty much my own boss out on the road all the time, friends in the industry have told me i would have no problem in getting the work and if i wanted to stay on a similar income id do about a third less than I'm doing now. Paperwork is fine i do it day in day out, invoicing i have a family member (retired) willing to do it for me, payments mainly bacs, customers are the easy part to deal with.
