  10. Hi all, Im in a posistion where i can build custom built dog boxes to your requirements, if this is against forum rules mods please feel free to remove it thanks. All boxes can be made to your requirements, for eithier in a car or on the back of a truck! All are made from 18mm or 15mm (depending whats available to me at the time) ply, all have felted roofs and come with a coat of black bitumen paint for extra protection. Here is one ive just delivered to a lad on a shoot of mine for a labrador,it was made to fot on the back of a navara pick up, it cost £200 and he was chuffed to bits with it! attachment=71351:small box.jpg] Here is the one i use for my spaniels, its two seperate compartments, but divided by a metal mesh so that they can still see each other, it has a small draw underneath for training equipment and towels etc, it was also made for a navara pick up, im not sure on the price of this one but would guess it would be around £280 As you can see from the second picture the paint is starting to fade, but its had only one coat and that was 3 seasons ago, it also has had dogs in and out constantly and been on the back of my navara in all types of weather, so with the right maintenance, im sure these boxes will last a very long time. please get in touch with me if your interested, and we can discuss your requirements, im located Tamworth, staffs Many thanks Matt not sure why the picture is at the bottom, but that is the one that was built for someone on our shoot
  11. had the same problem as you with my new springer last year!! 7 months old he was and i was advised not to take him as he was way to young, one of the lads who i shoot with on a regular basis said i should try him, so i did and have to say its the best thing i could of done with him, he was flushing aswell as the older boys by the end of season and was very steady still!! looking forward to next month to start it all again hope he does me proud again
  12. i didnt think about the excitement part!! thats a good point, and in fairness i suppose he was only about 10 months old when he first went on the beating line! started him from a young age
  13. hi all, can anyone reccomend me a dog vest that can be used on my ess, whos on the beating line?? last year in the depths of winter he started shivering once hed been charging through the wet cover strips and woodland, all day. So this year i thought that a waterproof vest would be a good investment. I like the look of the dokken 3mm neoprene ones, but ive read that there not designed for the beating line because of brambles, barbed wire etc, but i suppose its better to cut that than the dog!! would any of you guys use one of the neoprene type ones when beating?? I'll only be using it when it is really cold as i dont want it to have the opposite effect and the dog ends up overheating! any advice appreciated cheers matt
